The brothers of Kappa Pi Beta participated in the Friends of the Parks 2009 Great Rake Off. It was a beautiful day for raking leaves! Hola! Thanks to you we had another successful fundraiser for our national philanthropy; type 2 diabetes! Hope you guys had a lot of fun hitting us in the face with pies :p and hope to see you guys next year! For the second time, Kappa Pi Beta volunteered at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. As always it was a great time and we are happy we were able to help out! The alpha Kappa Delta and Kappa Pi Beta’s Breast Cancer Awareness Gala was a great success. Thanks to all who supported this cause that supported the Suzan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I am very sorry for the lack of updates, I have just been swamped with various things. I would like to thank everyone who donated food during our food drive! Because of all of you this was a huge success. This was also our first ever food drive and we could not have done it [...] Kappa Pi Beta Fraternity, along side other organizations, is organizing a canned food drive in the Naperville area benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository! When: We will be going door to door for any donations on Sunday, July 26th Why are we doing this? 1 in 11 people in Illinois is food insecure, and 11.9% [...] On Saturday, April 25th, our chapter went out to the Nettelhorst Elementary School on Chicago’s north side. We were able to help out with putting together benches and securing them around the playground as well as cleaning out an old closet that will be used to store student’s coats. This was a really fun event, [...] Thanks to all the brothers who showed up last Saturday to help clean up Horner Park! I think the event was fun. George and I spread mulch around some trees and then we joined the rest of the guys in picking up garbage. After that we participated in some activities the park district had for [...] As you can see, I am doing a recap of major things that went on in our chapter this semester. Pie throwing happened during our Founders Week, on March 19th, 2009.
